Is there really anyway to change...?

a stubborn and idiotic person that doesnt understand or doesnt interpret things very well?...cuz talkin to sum1 about an issue and trying to help him realize the bigger picture to overcome or handle the situation better is kind of difficult when he doest understand what we are trying to say to him?...can u really change a persons' social skillz that has previously daunted him earlier in his life?
