Advice on ex, and this whole "space" thing or whatever is going on....?

A month and a half ago my (then)boyfriend and I broke up. He's avoided me for this month. I have not contacted him at all except for his birthday, I texted him to say happy birthday. And I get nothing. He's the type of guy who will say, "thanks! How are you?". The point is, he's very friendly and polite. I texted him today for the first time since, telling him that i'd like to be friends, but on your time and only if/when you want to ( or are ready). I also need to drop by some things by his place, (NOT to see him), because I can't lug his crap around anymore. I am moving and it just means that it's another thing to take care of.(For the sake of knowing, he broke up w/ me, I saw it coming, it still hurt, there were some things he did to me that I would have liked to have said to him WHEN we were breaking up, but chose against it simply because the break up was still going to happen and it wouldn't have helped him). The thing is, even though I haven't contacted him besides his bday and today, I haven't hear from him AT all. I just want to know how he's doing. Do you think he'll come around and talk to me? How do you think he'll react? Do you think it's a bad idea to drop off his stuff? ( I don't want another box to be bothered with tho).
