Any reason my iphone wont respond at the bottom after i've put a screen protector on?

Give the screen protector some time to set. Try again after 1 day or so. If it still doesn't work take the screen protector off and see if the iPhone is still unresponsive. If it is unresponsive then you will need to take it to the Apple store to have the problem checked out.
